Benson Okafor – Security Professional, Child Safety Advocate & Author
Hi, I’m Benson Okafor, and I’m a passionate Child Safety Advocate with over 15 years of experience in private and corporate security. I’ve dedicated my life to ensuring that children grow up in safe environments, free from harm, and equipped with the knowledge they need to protect themselves.
My journey into child safety advocacy began after witnessing the devastating effects of child abuse in my community. This personal experience inspired me to combine my background in security with a deep passion for protecting children. Through my work, I strive to educate children and empower parents and caregivers with the tools they need to identify and prevent harm.
With a focus on empowerment and education, I have authored Break The Silence: Speak Up, Stay Safe!, a child-friendly guide designed to teach children how to recognize dangerous situations, set boundaries, and speak up when they feel unsafe. I work closely with schools, organizations, and families to raise awareness about child safety and provide practical resources for making the world a safer place for children.
At BensonChildSafety.com, you’ll find valuable resources to help protect children and foster a community that believes in empowering the next generation. I invite you to explore the website, check out my book, and join me in spreading the message of child safety and empowerment.
Together, we can ensure that every child has the opportunity to grow up in a safe, loving environment.
“The silenced child becomes the silenced adult.” Let’s break the silence together.

Steps to Empower Children
1
The first step involves educating children about their rights and the importance of saying ‘NO’ when they feel uncomfortable. This foundational knowledge empowers them to recognize inappropriate behavior and understand that they have the right to protect themselves.
2
In the second step, children learn to set personal boundaries. This includes understanding what is acceptable and what is not, helping them to articulate their feelings and assert their limits confidently in various situations.
3
The third step focuses on encouraging children to speak out. They are taught how to communicate their concerns to trusted adults, ensuring they know that their voices matter and that they can seek help when needed.
4
The fourth step emphasizes the importance of ongoing support. Children are encouraged to maintain open lines of communication with parents and guardians, fostering an environment where they feel safe discussing any issues that arise.
5
Finally, the fifth step involves reinforcing these lessons through practical exercises and discussions. This continuous engagement helps solidify their understanding and application of these vital skills in real-life scenarios.
